The Magical Tearoom on the Hill — Second Edition
This is not just a recipe book. This is the story of a dream that came true — and the little tearoom in Falkirk that a whole community decided to call their own.
Mother Murphy’s Tearoom opened its doors on 1st April 2015, and from the very beginning, it was somewhere a little bit special. A proper traditional tearoom — china cups and saucers, leaf tea and tea strainers, and home baking made with love. Almost everything gluten-free and dairy-free, though nobody knew that, because it simply wasn’t the point. The point was that everyone felt welcome, everyone was looked after, and everyone left feeling a little bit better than when they arrived.
The customers named it The Magical Tearoom on the Hill. And that means everything.
Inside these pages, you’ll find 95 recipes — most of them gluten-free and dairy-free, and some, like the famous caramel slice, with three versions so everyone gets a slice — alongside the warm, funny, and occasionally chaotic stories of the tearoom, its regulars, and one very remarkable Border Collie called Beatrix. It’s a book to curl up with, a cup of tea in hand, and feel thoroughly looked after.
This brand new second edition has been lovingly redesigned with improved photography and layout — because the story deserved to look as beautiful as it feels.
