Stories heal. They heal the people who read them, and they heal the people who write them.
I’m Debra Murphy — author, storyteller, and self-publishing mentor. I write books that make people feel something. I help other authors find their voice, and occasionally I disappear into the Scottish hills in a campervan called Evie.
Pull up a chair. There’s always tea and cake.

Beyond The Tearoom
Now the tearoom is no more, thanks to COVID19, (you can join me in sobbing here!), you can read more about the recipes and adventures in our book, The Magical Tearoom on the Hill.
I have also started a new Youtube series, Beyond The Tearoom. Chatting, baking, eating cake and chatting more.
Watch the episodes on our YouTube Channel Beyond The Tearoom.
You can now read Beatrix's tales and adventures in
Beatrix The Time Travelling Collie.

A weekend in Halifax to watch Dr Rhona Morrison's show at the Victoria Theatre should have been straightforward. It wasn't. A tale of train chaos, a Tunnock's Teacake, four bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk, and why paper tickets might have been right all along.
